WHATCHU TALKIN BOUT WILLIS?

I grew up when Diff'rent Strokes was a popular television show. That's no big deal unless your last name is Willis. To this day I still hear those famous words popularized by Arnold: "Whatchu talkin bout Willis?" Usually they are uttered by someone looking at me as though I may have never heard it before. Yeah, right! Well this blog is what I (Willis) am talkin bout...my thoughts, observations & opinions. Enjoy...

Acts 4:13

Acts 4:13 is one of my favorite verses. It seems to embody the impression we should endeavor to leave with people, even unfriendly people. Peter & John are standing before the hostile Sanhedrin. There is Annas & Caiaphas. And the apostles don't back down. Actually, they are amazinging bold in their proclamation of Jesus. The Sanhedrin lose this battle and are left with an indelible impression emblazoned on their minds...

"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13, NIV)

Back when I had a poll up asking who my visitors supoorted - there wasn't one McCain supporter in the buunch. Now, that was just for the primaries of course.

The current poll is about who you think will win, not who you want to win. I think McCain will win, but he's certainly not who I want.

Say goodbye to America people. Here are the things that will be erased soon: Our freedoms (with the upcoming RFID chips and REAL ID cards), our sovereignty, the Constitution (all of it, not just parts), and the borders (literally, not figuratively), the lives of thousands more troops, and Habeas Corpus (oh yeah, thats ALREADY gone). America: thanks for the memories. Dave--not knocking religion, but if God is more important than politics, then why is he allowing America to deteriorate by the actions of evil people ( i dont mean terrorists, I mean the evil in THIS country)??

Larry,
In short: God's kingdom is not of this world. I pray as our society becomes less desirable that perhaps more people will look toward eternal things. In this world we will have trouble...

we wouldnt have a country if people felt that way in 1773 Dave. Come on, I understand the whole "worldly/spiritual" thing but that is talking mainly about possessions, not freedom. No freedom---how will even have time or the freedom to worship God?

How free were Christians under the Roamn Emperors like Nero? How about Christians in China or the Middle East today? I'd love to see the US turn in the right direction under a Ron Paul, but if it doesn't it isn't God's fault. 2 words: Free Will. This doesn't mean I'm not conerned about this nation of thankful for the freed om I enjoy here. I just have a higher allegiance.

yes, but dont let your higher allegience stop you from fighting for freedom and this country. Doing nothing makes you complicit with the evil people trying to end America. We cant do a whole lot, but we can do something.
