The Christmas season has past and I had a great one (except for the acid reflux!). Amidst all the good things that were happening, I had a rare opportunity arise. My friend, Mike "Soren" Kjergaard was in town to perform a wedding and was also scheduled to preach at the Northampton church across town. I say "rare opportunity" because I just happened to be on vacation at the same time. I don't get to see Mike much (he's in Indiana & I'm here in lovely Virginia). It's even rarer that I get to hear him preach in person. It was really good to see Mike and his family. Mike did an outstanding job with his message. I know it sounds hokey, but i was proud. It's tough to return to a congregation you served previously and Mike was at Northampton for well over a decade. I know I would have been stressed but Mike was unflappable. He's the consummate preacher. I'm glad to call him my colaborer and friend.
