WHATCHU TALKIN BOUT WILLIS?

I grew up when Diff'rent Strokes was a popular television show. That's no big deal unless your last name is Willis. To this day I still hear those famous words popularized by Arnold: "Whatchu talkin bout Willis?" Usually they are uttered by someone looking at me as though I may have never heard it before. Yeah, right! Well this blog is what I (Willis) am talkin bout...my thoughts, observations & opinions. Enjoy...

Off to RBC (MACU)

RBC must have finally run out of alums who are in preaching ministries. How do I know this? Because I've been selected as "Preacher of the Month." Yes, I know it is hard to believe but it has actually happened! I will be honored tomorrow and get to speak in chapel as well. I do appreciate the affirmation and the opportunity to preach the Word as well. The funny thing is that I am always quite nervous when I return to my alma mater. I can't explain exactly why either. I'd appreciate your prayers. Thanks.

Nope. I'm still left. And I think Jason Thornton is, too. I don't think they'd have me back. I haven't sent them any $$$.

I prayed for you last night and this morning! I am confident you did an amazing job! And you totally deserve to be preacher of the month! You're still one of my all-time favorites! Can't wait to see you and the family when I come back to VA in May!!

I'm back and it was a good time at RBC. I got to hang with "Woody" and several other encouraging brothers & sisters. I always enjoy chatting with Prof. Woolard. He's been a great encouragement to me over the years. It's being at RBC crazy because I hardly know any of the faculty or students these days.

Aaron - We have had plenty of people speak who havn't given any money. Not a prerequisite my friend.
Besides, we don't choose POTM. The preaching ministry advisory committee does which is made up of alums and local preachers.
I'll put in a good word for you and get you down here.

Hey, I'm a preacher now, after all these years! Maybe I'll get some love from the POTM some day!
